The government is set to roll out the new lower secondary education curriculum in February 2020 a move that is aimed at creating relevance in the education system.

According to the National Curriculum Development Centre, learners will be taught 12 subjects at S.1 & S.2 out of which 11 will be compulsory. At S.3 & S.4 learners will exit a minimum of eight/ maximum nine subjects with seven of them compulsory .
